2011-2012 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE:

Friday, Dec. 23: no 12-1pm class
Saturday, December 24 and Sunday December 25: CLOSED
Tuesday December 27: No 5:45 pm Beginner or 7 pm Stress Relief Class
Sunday, January 1: ONE CLASS ONLY 10-11:30 am with Eleanor

Small Shaela

All levels. Yoga for Stress-Relief. For those who need to relieve stress, insomnia or tension. This class works with the breath and Shaela's knowledge of acupressure points and oriental therapy to further enable the body and mind to release while working on classic poses for alignment. Note: This class is also appropriate for expecting mothers.

Class Levels

Yoga and Exercise for the “Movement-Limited”: for movement limitations due to arthritis, recent surgery, & stiffness. There is minimal use of props and the movement is more neuromuscular than classic asana. No previous experience required.

Level 1
Continuing Beginners.

Level 1-2
All Levels.

Level 2
Minimum 1 year of Iyengar Yoga, headstand and shoulderstand.

Backbends and Chest Openers
Exploring all types of backbending and chest-opening postures. All Levels, no flexibility required.

Gentle Yoga
For Seniors and those with limited mobility or needing a less strenous program.

Yoga for Stress-Relief
All levels. For those who need to relieve stress, insomnia or tension. This class works with the breath and acupressure points to further enable the body to release in classic poses.

Prenatal
All stages of pregnancy. No previouse Yoga experience necessary.

Power Yoga the Iyengar Way
Linked postures in sun salute format; vigorous and challenging. Knowledge of inversions and standing poses required. Not for students with wrist or other serious limitations.

General Information

Please pre-register by phone for Fundamentals Classes (see Beginners Page for details). Unless otherwise noted, pre-registration for the other classes listed above is not necessary. Pre-registration for workshops is recommended.

Please don't eat a heavy meal before class; come with an empty or nearly empty stomach. Wear non-restrictive clothing such as T-shirt and shorts or workout pants that are not baggy and do not cover feet. A dressing room is available. Please do come with a clean body (feet too!) and no fragrances. CSIY provides props for all classes and on-site workshops (of course you can bring your own anytime).
